Hon. Michelle Roberts MLA

Michelle Roberts outstanding career in State Parliament began in 1994 as the Member for Midland. Today she holds one of the most challenging yet progressive portfolios in the WA Parliament. Her extensive ministerial background includes police and emergency services, local government, planning and infrastructure, justice, community safety and consumer protection.

Michelle’s astute leadership has resulted in significant reductions in crime and antisocial behaviour, and more police on the frontline. She’s also introduced anti-hoon laws, revolutionary DNA identification laws, and tough child protection sex offender registration laws. She achieved more in her five years with emergency services than any previous Minister, particularly for regional areas.

As the current Minister for Employment Protection, Michelle is determined to see the benefits of injury management given greater priority across business and government. She fully endorses the focus of this year’s Conference in bringing all stakeholders in the workers’ compensation system together to achieve better outcomes for their organisations and the WA community through heightened understanding, commitment and collaboration.
